Hampshire Search and Rescue have been added to the Flood Rescue National Asset Register after being re-accredited and are now available for national deployment.
This follows a rigorous audit by the Flood Rescue Capability Officer, making sure that the Water Team are compliant to Department for Environment Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA) Flood Rescue standards as set out in The DEFRA Flood Rescue Concept of Operations.
Hampshire Search and Rescue have declared a Type C Team.
This is a Water & Flood Rescue Technician Team which has the capability of:
- Technical water rescue
- Search operations within the water environment
- In-water operations
- Non-powered boat operations
- Flood response
A Type C team is made up of a Team manager and 6 Team members with all with basic first aid training and 1 with advanced first aid training.
