We’re delighted to announce that following a recent grant application we have been awarded £1,000 from the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Communication Foundation – Sport Relief Community Cash Fund (HIWCF)
The HIWCF is an independent charitable foundation dedicated to connecting donors with the local causes and charities they care about.
Grants Officer Terry Huppler said “We are very grateful to HIWCF for helping us secure a grant from the Sports Relief Community Cash fund. The flood response kit it allows us to purchase will give us new capability which in turn increases our potential to save lives.”
Chairman Simon Jeffs added “This kit will allow the team to extend beyond it’s current capability and allow teams to search waterways and assist other agencies in times of need such as we all saw in the news earlier this year”.
The team has always been more than about Search and Rescue, we have always worked with the local community and offered our assistance in times of need. We sit on the Local Search and Rescue Committeee (LSARC) alongside the regular emergency services and are also a listed asset in the Local Resilience Forum.
If you would like to help the team by making a donation please get in touch.
